RAF Fairford experienced serious problems in the build-up to the 2012 Air Tattoo! Site contractors and senior personnel on site had been advised by the fire officer that due to the emergency lighting inverter system failing its test and not being up to standard, it was not being signed off and couldn’t be used.

This would directly affect the air show due to take place on the 7th / 8th July.
Richard March, an engineer on behalf of the resident FM company got in touch with Effekta UK requesting advice/repair options on the current system.

After analysing the situation and time restraints it was decided to recommend a temporary system be installed on a loan basis with a view to installing a complete new system in the near future.

Effekta’s quick response time enabled a suitable temporary system to be installed on the premises within just a few days. The system was successfully installed, commissioned and tested and was paramount in allowing the Ait Tattoo to take place!

The site now awaits a complete new replacement lighting system due to be installed in 3-4 weeks’ time.
