Monday 9th July sees the opening of the World famous Farnborough Air show held alternate years with the Paris air show taking place in the intervening year.
Once again, Powervamp has been requested by various Airframe manufacturers to supply its ground power units, support equipment and engineering staff to enable the aircraft on display to have the power necessary for their demonstrations.
In this specialised field of 115volt 400Hz Frequency converters and 28 volt DC power supplies, Powervamp is uniquely placed to supply its own equipment and to undertake the hook-ups and support through the engineering team within its rental division.
Last year,the company was responsible for all the ground power at the 2011 Paris Air show, powering aircraft such as the Boeing 787 ,747-800, 777 and Airbus A380 and A400M as well as small commuter and fighter aircraft on display. Such responsibilities demand top equipment and a highly experienced and dedicated team. The demands and deadlines required by the major Airframe manufacturers are such that Powervamp’s team invariably work very long hours, under extreme pressure during show build up and throughout the air show.
Such is the strength of Powervamp’s working relationship gained over many Paris shows with the French organisers and ramp team that it is much of Powervamp’s data and input that is used to assist the Air show management with detailed technical information.
